Keynote Speaker: Kathy Brodie
Kathy Brodie has spent almost two decades in the Early Years sector, during which time she has worked in a wide range of settings and schools as a practitioner, then SENCO and EYP. She is now a full time author and consultant.

Her books include ‘Observation, Assessment and Planning’; ‘Sustained Shared Thinking’; ‘Inclusion and Early Years Practice’ (editor); Series editor for Jennie Lindon’s Theory and Practice series and editor for the new edition of ‘Understanding Child Development’. Her new book ‘Birth to Three: Holistic Development’ will be out in 2017.

Kathy also writes a regular column for ‘Practical Preschool’ about resources and a series for ‘Teach Early Years’ on developing good practice in Early Years.

Focus: Sustained Shared Thinking
Sustained Shared Thinking is contained in those lovely, in-depth conversations you have with children. It costs nothing, you need no specialist equipment – and it is fun to do. This session will give you three top techniques to enhance your own Sustained Shared Thinking in your setting, so you can encourage children’s problem solving and thinking skills.
